Offseason workout dates for the San Francisco 49ers have officially been announced.

Everything kicks off for the 49ers on May 10 when they hold rookie minicamp. This will go on for two days, so it will be the first time the 49ers get to see their newly assembled draft class get to work on their own field with their own practice structure.

Following rookie minicamp, the 49ers will start up OTAs (offseason team activities) on May 20 until May 31 with a few off days in between. The 49ers will end offseason workouts with mandatory minicamp on June 4 until June 6. This is where the coaches will hand the players a plan on what they will want to see when they return for training camp in late July.

The offseason always feels long, but it is these offseason workouts that are the first domino to fall that makes it feel faster. During OTAs, head coach Kyle Shanahan wil use those practices as part of his install for the offense and defense.

Then, the players will use that time off from then until training camp to embed themselves in the playbook. The most intriguing part about OTAs is whether or not Brandon Aiyuk will show up. He is due for a contract extension this offseason, so it would not be surprising if he doesn't show up.

And if he does show up, does he utilize a "hold in" instead? Or does he actually participate? I'd guess that he shows up and doesn't practice with the team like how Nick Bosa did last year. Pretty soon the NFL season will be upon us with these practices holding us over.
